In Mexico, we currently working with 2 partners. Volunteers will be involved in 1 of the 2 centres.
Depending on the project needs and your personal skills you will be assisting veterinarians in surgeries, receiving and delivering dogs and cats, assisting in the recovery area, giving attention to and taking care of the cats in the refugee centre, doing surveys for the local community or implementing animal welfare workshops with the community.
The time schedule varies, but there will be time for you to study Spanish and enjoy a well deserved break. You will have two days off which will not always be Saturday and Sunday.
Volunteers will walk rescued dogs down the main street in town to help promote awareness of the rehabilitation and adoption program and provide information to potential adopters. Volunteers will also help socializing / bathing / playing with the rescued dogs to prepare them to be adopted out.
