Volunteers will be based in Gordon’s Bay, a coastal town close to the beautiful city of Cape Town and Stellenbosch.
This program focuses on assisting primary school children who are struggling academically. Work with them individually and focus on areas such as literacy, numeracy and English language skills. The environment is fun and creative where volunteers play educational games which helps with their confidence levels and improve their performance in the classroom.
You will be involved in planning and implementing a project which uses educational games, song and dance, arts and crafts, gross and fine motor co-ordination and story telling to allow these children to have fun while learning and developing at the same time.
During the school holiday period we run school holiday programs at a local library. The ages of those students vary from 1-15 years meaning we do a range of activities to cater for everyone. This includes arts, craft, reading, tutoring, sports, health, confidence among other things.
